For all of the people who’ve asked or wanted to ask me to take your portrait, LET’S DO IT!
WHAT IN THE WORLD IS HAPPENING?
I love photographing people. Period. I love the uniqueness of each individual, the time I spend and the results I get when photographing them. I wanted to do something that would allow me to meet new people, reinforce my relationships with those I know and create something fun on a monthly basis in my East Nashville Studio. Let’s show off your unique personality and make something together.
WHEN WILL STUDIO SATURDAYS BE TAKING PLACE?
These will all take place monthly on a Saturday beginning February 16th from 12pm until 4pm.
WHAT AGES ARE THESE SHOOTS FOR?
18 years of age and up. Sorry no children.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
First off, check out the examples above for an idea of what I have in mind. I’m not sure what I’ll want to do that day and that’s kind of the goal. My goal is to create something fun and spontaneous that you are proud to show off. The goal of this setting is to provide a recent creative portrait for your socials including Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin, Snapchat, etc. The image likely won’t be full length. I’ll lightly edit and tone the image but any more detailed retouching on the final image will have to be discussed and an appropriate cost will be applied if needed/requested.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
$175 for a 15-20 minute window of shooting and digital delivery of a single final selected image chosen by you.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? IS HAIR AND MAKEUP INCLUDED?
Wear whatever you want. Hair & Makeup is not included/available. Please show up ready to roll.
CAN I USE THESE FOR COMMERCIAL PURPOSES?
So.. here’s where 2019 helps and hurts creators. Obviously, I want people to enjoy the image and experience but have to be conscious of how the final images are used. The goal of this project is to offer my talents in a creative way in an effort to collaborate for the modern media. The images are only to be used for Social Media/Web/WEBSITE use only.
Posting them to social media is great and encouraged but they may not be used for any commercial uses UNLESS we negotiate that usage separately with a different contract (that includes, book covers, album/single art, merch, any advertising or any editorial use). Writers round/web/social media based show announcements are ok. Why? Offering extremely discounted shoots for commercial purposes would be completely undercutting my industry, my peers and other fellow photographers. I value what I do and what others do. That’s why this is for personal and social media use only. If you wish to book a full day or campaign I’m here ready to help.
(Please note: we will require you to sign a simple agreement stating everything in the paragraph above, that you’ll only use your portrait for personal use and social media, not commercial use.)
HOW WILL I GET MY PORTRAITS AND HOW MANY DO I GET?
Here’s where trust will happen in our creative process. I’m very particular in what I think looks good and what I’m proud to call my work. I will choose what I feel are the few strongest portraits and will send you an email with a link to review and select one within one week after the shoot. You are who you are. I only benefit by choosing the image that best represents you in the best way on that day. Trust me..
WHY DO YOU CHOOSE THE PORTRAITS?
I’ve been doing this for nearly a decade and some of the biggest brands, magazines, personalities and corporations in the world trust my skill and judgement. I hope you will too. Out of the proofs I send, you have the final say in which single image you like best.
CAN I EDIT MY PORTRAIT?
I would really, really, really, really prefer you to not re-edit your portrait or add a filter over the image. It is truly one of the worst things you can do to a professional visual artist/creator. Please respect me as an artist and respect my process. I will lightly edit your images and you are hiring me for my specific style so please trust my process. It’s like putting salt on a fancy meal before you taste it while the chef watches. It’s literally the worst.
